Frequently Asked Questions
Are all events free?

No. We may have to use timed entry if venues are particularly busy but advance tickets are not required.

What times are venues open?

Bournemouth: Midday to Midnight (Friday), 9am to Midnight (Saturday and Sunday)

Sherborne: Midday to Midnight

Weymouth: 10.30am to Midnight

Is it family friendly?

Yes, all ages are welcome.

Are the venues accessible?

Yes, access guides are available for all sites. See each location page for more details: Bournemouth Sherborne Weymouth

Is there parking and disabled parking nearby?

Yes, our travel and access guides have full information on parking.

Can we touch the moon?

No, just like the real moon it’s beautiful to look at but very few of us will ever get to touch it in real life.

How do we get involved?

We are happy to welcome new volunteers to our events. If you’re interested in volunteering please contact us using the form above. If you are a local business why not take a look at our Dorset Moon Business page to find out how you can get involved!

Are there toilet facilities onsite or nearby?

There are public toilet facilities near to or at each venue.

Can we bring a picnic under the moon?

With so many people keen to see it, picnics under the moon are not possible. However, each site is close to beautiful green spaces where you can enjoy your picnic.

Are there food and drink places nearby?

Yes, each town has a wide-range of food & drink facilities nearby.

Can we take photos of the moon?

Yes, absolutely! Even better if you share them using #DorsetMoon where it will appear on our homepage gallery!

What happens if it is raining or very windy?

Bournemouth and Weymouth are both outdoor sites. While rain should not be an issue, if there are strong winds we may have to pause the installation.
